Biology : Biotechnology : Architecture
Richard Beckett is a Lecturer in Architecture at The Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL.
His research area focuses on BioAugmented Design – a body of ongoing research that operates at the intersection of Biology and Architecture. It explores new paradigms for architecture through a multidisciplinary approach utilising design, computation, microbiology and material science methodologies.
The work investigates the potential for biologically augmenting architecture and materials towards novel solutions for sustainable, resilient and healthy cities.
